We were faced with the challenge of putting together an event for a group of meeting planners who have seen and done it all," said Total Entertainment's Michael Cerbelli, who produced hospitality marketing company Krisam Group's Ultra Lounge-themed event at Chelsea Piers' Pier Sixty. Cerbelli worked with Krisam executive vice president Marcia Gerard to create a party to promote hotels and other event vendors to planners from across the Northeast.
In order to keep the been-there-done-that guests entertained all the way through cocktails, dinner, dancing and dessert, Total brought in a nonstop sequence of performers that complemented the 60's lounge theme: Direct from Vegas Productions' Rat Pack impersonators, party tune cover band Soul Solution, a troupe of Total's own racy dancers performing a Pussycat Dolls-style revue, and more.
The 60's-inspired decor included brightly colored palm tree centerpieces, flower arrangements in oversized martini glasses by Debbie's Design and an "Ultra Lounge"-branded ice bar by Carving Ice. Designs by Sean illuminated the entrance to the reception area with two women outfitted with cone-shaped, light-up shades over their heads to serve as human lamps. Guests left the event with a box of Groovy Candies' 60's-reminiscent candies like Smarties and bubble gum cigarettes. Groovy, baby.
