Mars Inc. hosted its annual "Tie Club" dinner and induction ceremony on October 3 at the Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate. Members of the prestigious club—including company executives, regional managers, and guests—enjoyed a candy-coated evening that not only inspired the dessert, but the decor as well.
The Event Firm developed a delicious color palette of chocolate browns and metallic golds. Designer Fe Domenech created low-profile, orb-shaped centerpieces with roses, hydrangeas, and dendrobium orchids in various shades of fuchsia for each table. Floating candles in glass cylinders illuminated the metallic gold shag overlays covering creamy caramel and chocolate linens on round tables. Glittering topiaries with pin lights lined the ballroom walls and defined the dining area. The stage where new members were inducted into the Tie Club was a re-creation of the outside of an old-fashioned candy store. The facade was complete with a functioning front window to showcase Mars' most popular confections.
The evening concluded with—what else?—chocolate. The catering staff at the Omni created a decadent dessert of a Dove chocolate mousse dome filled with a raspberry coulis.
