The Miami Children's Hospital's Diamond Ball

Held at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami on October 12, the event had a Brazilian Carnival theme. The ballroom was inspired by the celebration in Rio and had dancers in cages and lush, feathered headdresses. Samba batucada drums played in background.

In 2011, Macy's staged a Star Beach Party to promote its spring-break-ready wares. Although it took place in chilly Chicago in March, the pop-up promotion let guests pose with beach-themed props against sunny backdrops.
