Since 2002, American Banker magazine has honored the accomplishments of the women leading the industry at the Most Powerful Women in Banking Awards Dinner. The event encompasses four lists: the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking, the 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance, 25 Women to Watch, and the Top Teams in Banking. In the age of the #metoo movement, last year's black-tie dinner at Cipriani Wall Street highlighted the role that women can play in supporting each other in the workplace and called for an increase in diversity at the top levels of banks and financial firms.
