Starting in Tunisia, Discover Live’s tour guide led the group through the city’s streets, stopping at a covered bazaar to see the perfumes, spices, shoes and colorful textiles, as well as a bookstore and traditional pastry shops. The tour ended with a stop at a popular local restaurant for a cooking lesson from the chef who explained two traditional dishes and prepared a lamb couscous recipe with vegetables and regional seasonings.
From there, another guide whisked the group to Porto to visit some of the city’s famous Port wine cellars, which included a detailed lesson on the wine. As the group strolled through outdoor cafes, the guide shared the history of Porto, along with information on classic local dishes like francesinha and bacalhau, as well as a lesson on some Portuguese words. Throughout the experience, the attendees were able to ask questions and engage with the guide.
