It sounds like an assignment for Cake Boss. But when Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular celebrated its 2,000th performance on Tuesday, organizers looked to Las Vegas's Freed's Bakery to create a giant cake in the well-known shape of the phantom's white mask. Following the performance at the Phantom Theatre at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, Anthony Crivello (who plays the Phantom) gave a short speech to the audience before the cast and crew celebrated together. Phantom at the Venetian, which takes place in a custom-built theater with only-in-Vegas effects and the Andrew Lloyd Webber music from the original, is produced by the Really Useful Theatre Company and BASE Entertainment.

Theme-y cakes seem to be—ahem—a theme with such shows, as the Palais Garnier opera house setting made an appearance in the form of a giant cake from A Wish and a Whisk, which replicated the grand building for a recent Phantom of the Opera event in Los Angeles.
