Each spring, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club teams up with a band of interior designers to create the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, a pop-up project that remodels a private residence and presents home decorating ideas to the public over a period of four weeks. This year, the nonprofit is taking over an Upper East Side mansion once owned by John Hay Whitney and will offer the space for corporate planners to rent for events.

The fund-raising showcase will occupy the four-story property at 163 East 63rd Street starting April 21, hosting a dinner preview and opening night reception before opening to the public on Thursday, April 28. Before the Decorator Show House ends its run on May 26, planners can book the site for receptions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings from 5.30 p.m. to midnight.

One-night leases are priced at $10,000, which includes staffing and security fees, and companies must use a preferred caterer. Planners can book one of the participating designers to act as a guide for an additional $2,500. The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club's marketing office handles inquiries and can be reached at 212.755.5733.

Since its inception in 1973, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House has raised more than $17 million for the community organization and typically sees as many as 20,000 visitors during its monthlong stint.
