The shelter magazine elite--call them furnishistas--gathered at Sotheby's to kick off the photography exhibit "The Well-Lived Life: 100 Years of House & Garden." Such well-heeled guests as Oscar de la Renta and Vogue's Hamish Bowles helped editor Dominique Browning and publisher Brenda Saget celebrate the Conde Nast magazine's anniversary.
They also perused the exhibit's eight categories, including "Domestic Bliss" and "That's Entertaining," while being entertained themselves by DJ Rene Arsenault of Onda Productions, and noshing on stuffed figs, fois gras, and truffles provided by Tentation. Avi Adler created huge bouquets of white and cream hydrangeas and dahlias, and provided potted palm trees to dot the exhibit space. (The party was just a day after both Swell and Adler worked on the Elle Girl launch party.)
Guests left with gift bags containing, among other things, a specially-wrapped issue of House & Garden, a Donghia postcard pack, Swarovski crystal tattoos and mini bottles of Absolut vodka (Absolut co-sponsored the exhibition, along with Mercedes Benz and Donghia).

House & Garden celebrated its 100th anniversary with the opening of the photography exhibit "The Well-Lived Life: 100 Years of House & Garden" at Sotheby's.

Avi Adler's decor touches included various vases of white and cream hydrangeas and dahlias.

Large white floral arrangements also dotted the galleries.

Palm trees added an unexpected touch to the exhibit.
