Friends and fun arrived while cares and worries departed at Florida International magazine's 10th anniversary celebration at Miami Executive Aviation at the Opa Locka airport. As guests entered through the white-draped entryway, they took their turn on the catwalk leading into the private hangar where the party was held. Showtime Audio & Visual hung a large projection screen at the end of the runway showing images from the magazine.
Inside, Ronen Bar and Furniture Rental and Pistils & Petals created an industrial yet chic atmosphere by sticking with white and neutral tones throughout the space. Rows of white, leafless trees set in tall, metallic gray planters punctuated the buffet tables. Lounges were set up throughout the hangar with white couches, ottomans, chairs, and acrylic tables, provided by Ronen, lit from within.Toward the middle of the evening, models hit the runway in couture dresses from Yoly Munoz for an elegant fashion show. A performance by a cross-dressing, knife-juggling, roller-skating, pogo-stick-riding entertainer from Spiegelworld, a traveling performance company showcasing an erotic adult circus, was also on hand to entertain guests.
Items up for bid in a silent auction held throughout the night included designer watches, Swarovski crystal sandals, a Fendi monogrammed bolster and throw pillows, and more. All proceeds benefited the Children's Trust Hospital and Experience Aviation, a flight-simulation experience founded by Barrington Irving, the first African-American and youngest man to fly solo around the world.
Guests enjoyed food and drink provided by Thierry's Catering throughout the night.
