The Theatre at Ace Hotel is a loving reanimation of United Artists’ former flagship movie house. Having received international accolades for renovation and reactivation of several culturally significant landmarks, Ace was a natural steward for this historic structure, enlivening it with innovative design and contemporary culture, while honoring the original aesthetic cues of glorious movie palaces past.

Since opening its doors in 2014, The Theatre at Ace Hotel has helped shape Downtown Los Angeles' burgeoning cultural renaissance, playing host to an array of art and entertainment events—film premieres, large-scale concerts, cocktail parties, weddings, award shows, conferences, galas, product launches, and cultural symposiums. With a 1,600-seat movie house and more than 4,000 square feet of lobby space, the theatre's many ornate event spaces are equipped for gatherings of all shapes and sizes.

This past year, The Theatre at Ace Hotel hosted a world premiere live reading of Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight with Film Independent as well as a special advance screening of Warner Brothers’ psychedelic surf-noir Inherent Vice, with director Paul Thomas Anderson and actresses Jena Malone and Joanna Newsom in attendance. E3's Best of Xbox Showcase even transformed the space with green lighting for an evening of demos and hands-on gameplay.

Retrofitted with a state-of-the-art digital projection system and cinema sound; an independent, ultra-modern live sound system; plus an elaborate contemporary stage lighting system, the theatre can take on whatever fits within the confines of its dazzling proscenium—a much-need bridge to the exciting future of Downtown Los Angeles.
