Here's a look at what's new for 2020 in the Montreal area.

Get inspired with the latest ideas in meetings, entertainment, and more in and around Montreal.

The Palais des Congrès de Montréal recently introduced its CITE Event Innovation and Technology Centre. In conjunction with Palais’s official providers, the initiative allows event organizers to work with local startups and creative entrepreneurs who offer services ranging from technology and food to event logistics. For example, Massivart (pictured) stages art- and design-driven installations.

Marcus at the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal recently started serving afternoon tea ($34), daily from 2 to 5 p.m. Guests can enjoy chef Marcus Samuelsson’s modern re-interpretation of the tradition with towers of sweet treats and savory bites, all served with a selection of black, white, green, and oolong organic teas by Vancouver-based Tealeaves. Upgrade the experience with tins of Northern Divine Canadian caviar, house-made potato blinis, and champagne by the glass.

The live touring show kicks off in March in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and tells the story of Scooby-Doo and his mystery-solving friends as they head out on an adventure, complete with original music, puppetry, interactive video, aerial arts, acrobatics, and video mapping. The tour runs through June 28, 2020.

The 116th annual Toronto Santa Claus Parade will be recorded prior to its Dec. 5 air date and will appear on CTV and CTV2 as a two-hour broadcast. While the parade typically takes place in the city, organizers have moved it to Canada’s Wonderland to allow for social distancing. It will include 23 colorful floats, special musical guest performances, and celebrity appearances.
