Grandprix Kartways Offers More than Racing

The newest of teambuilding event spaces is not only fast paced but environmentally friendly. Granprix Kartways teamed up recently with Downsview Park to create a motor sports amusement centre that uses Italian-made OTL go-karts on their tracks—these high performance go-karts do not emit noxious fumes, unlike carbon-based fuel burning vehicles. Within the 45,000 square-foot venue, with a design inspired by authentic race tracks and common racing styles, is a ? mile indoor track, a glass wall, enclosed V.I.P. lounge with adjacent meeting rooms, a track-side caf? with checkered flag floor design, an entertainment zone with billiards, and much more. The venue, which opened in November of 2006, is available for bookings all year. Corporate packages start at $49 per person, which includes a two-race experience. There is no charge for room rentals with the purchase of meals, which begin at $14.95 per person. —Robyn Small
