Runners have marathons, programmers have hackathons, and now event and meeting professionals have the Plan-A-thon. The brainstorming workshop that BizBash first introduced at its expo is heading to more cities this year, with the first one scheduled for Toronto. To be held May 14 at the Palais Royale, the half-day program sponsored by QuickMobile will invite planners to work in groups to dream up new concepts and strategies for iconic events such as the opening night of the Toronto International Film Festival, the Royal Ontario Museum's Prom, and the Toronto Festival of Beer.
BizBash C.E.O. and founder David Adler will lead the discussion. Joining him as mentors will be a team of industry professionals, including Bliss Events owner Tara O'Grady; the Mint Agency's Jordan Fogle; Michelle Planche, president of Paradigm Events; and Paras Mehta, the creative director of Paras Events. After groups present their two-minute elevator pitch of ideas, the evening will conclude with cocktails and networking.
