Fashion Cares, Canada's largest AIDS fund-raiser, teased the media with details of its 2007 gala during a splashy media event at Maro. Among the announcements was the show theme, Peep, which will be a modern take on burlesque theatre. Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese, estranged wife of shock rocker Marilyn Manson, will perform at the May 12 benefit, which will raise money for the AIDS Committee of Toronto. Other entertainers will include Bedouin Soundclash, Mya, and Kelly Rowland. Jay Manuel, creative director and producer of America's Next Top Model, will host. Throughout the media event, caterwaiters dressed in black from Maro passed hors d'oeuvres. Meanwhile, models in lingerie and sultry makeup mingled with guests, and posters and other marketing materials placed around the venue added to the atmosphere.
