Once again this year, students in the event design and management program at Seneca College created the theme for the Bloor Street Entertains after-party, held at the Royal Ontario Museum November 25. "They came up with a really well enunciated theme," event producer David Vallee of David Vallee Entertains said of the '40s-inspired decor.
Plumes of white feathers filled tall glass vases placed atop cocktail tables and bars throughout the space, and black-and-white marquee signage displayed sponsor names. "The students are so valuable to this event. They go into their workshop and they construct this stuff and it has to look great. There's a lot of expectation," Vallee said.
RĂ©my Martin sponsored a bistro-style lounge in the museum's rotunda where a fashion display showcased gowns from Canadian designers like Wayne Clark, Paul Hardy, and Nada. Dufflet Pastries provided a selection of desserts, and Krupps set up a coffee and espresso bar.
A silent auction offered guests the chance to bid on items such as tickets to the Toronto Maple Leafs/Montreal Canadiens match on Boxing Day and a selection of celebrity-designed teapots, each of which included a gift certificate for afternoon tea at Le MĂ©ridien King Edward Hotel.
