Here's a look at 10 highlights from our event coverage this week, including chef Curtis Stone's late-night games following the Home and Housewares Show, the fan-mobbed Hunger Games premiere, Toronto Fashion Week's new-and-improved tent, and the event-laden Winter Party Festival.

Curtis Stone's Kitchen Solutions Launch Party
On March 11 in Chicago, celebrity chef Curtis Stone hosted a launch party for his new line of cookware, Curtis Stone Kitchen Solutions. The centerpiece for the evening was a 40-minute cooking demo from the top toque. To get guests interacting with the new products, the planning team devised three games that involved audience participation, including the "Mixed Cocktail Shake-Off," which tasked players with creating the perfect mint-chocolate martinis.

Lionsgate Premiere for 'The Hunger Games'
Recalling the large-scale, fan-mobbed Twilight premieres, Lionsgate opened The Hunger Games on Monday at L.A. Live's Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles with big buzz and a throng of fans eager to lend their enthusiasm to build excitement around the movie. Lionsgate tapped Chris Benarroch to produce the event, with Benarroch's team handling outreach to more than 4,000 guests by way of an animated online invitation.

Toronto Fashion Week kicked off Monday in David Pecaut Square with a new headlining sponsor, MasterCard. This year, the Fashion Design Council of Canada decided to use one large tent to shorten lines and leave more room for sponsor activations. World MasterCard Fashion Week ends today.

Old Spice's Scent Event
On Tuesday, Old Spice held its first media event in New York, taking to the meatpacking district's Highline Stages to showcase two new scent collections as well as the inspiration and technology behind its products. In line with its quirky marketing campaigns, the Procter & Gamble brand brought in champion crosscutters to help guests like model Chrissy Teigen (pictured) saw a log.

Winter Party Festival
The Winter Party Festival, a fund-raiser for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and many South Florida lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender organizations, took over the shores and various venues in and around South Beach, February 29 through March 5. During the festivities, some 10,000 guests attended 22 events, including parties and art exhibitions.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts Opening Concert
A vast lineup of performers from across the arts took to the stage on Saturday for the opening of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts, the buzzy new Las Vegas culture venue more than two decades in the making. Led by host Neil Patrick Harris, the show included a performance by Jennifer Hudson, accompanied by a 70-member choir, who closed the evening with a rendition of "Take Care of This House."

Peabody Essex Museum and Mandarin Oriental Boston's 'Celebrate China' Event
On Sunday, the Mandarin Oriental Boston teamed up with the Peabody Essex Museum to host the free, open-to-the-public "Celebrate China" event. Boston families brought around 400 young ones to the first-time function, which offered Chinese-culture immersion by way of iced tea tastings, storytelling, and other thematic activities, including brush painting.

Architecture & Design Museum Fund-Raiser
The Architecture & Design Museum Los Angeles celebrated its 11th year at its annual fund-raiser on Saturday, tripling ticket sales for the event, known as "Celebrate: The Wearable." Throughout the evening, Los Angeles Artist Collective projected museum images as well as a live feed of the runway show onto the exterior walls of the both the museum and the East-facing wall of the Petersen Museum, creating a neighborhood light show and viewing spot for those who couldn't fit inside.

'Frozen Planet' Premiere
On Thursday, March 8, the Discovery Channel took over New York's Alice Tully Hall for the premiere of its latest blue-chip series, Frozen Planet. For the screening and reception, Discovery Communcations' global events team brought in live penguins from SeaWorld and gave each guest a stuffed toy penguin as a gift.
