At a party Sunday night for convention delegates at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, Best Impressions Caterers created an 8- by 16-foot tasting wall. The serpentine steel wall had hundreds of four- by four-inch stainless steel shelves that each displayed a single serving of either shrimp cocktail or seared ahi tuna.

For Fashionโs Night Out in Los Angeles, Paul Frank hosted a pop-up on Melrose Avenue and filled it with decor and lighting to match the "neon native" theme. Dreamcatchers hung overhead and neon tumbleweeds from Greenset decked the floor. As the temporary spot had little in the way of electrical supply, Kinetic Lighting used battery-operated fixtures to add neon-hued lighting.

Wooliteโs โWoolite Washedโ Boutique

For Fashionโs Night Out in New Yorkโand Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekโlaundry detergent brand Woolite created a shop to promote its new campaign, as well as sell limited-edition clothing from five designers. Inside the space, chandeliers looked like washing lines and the front of the bar was comprised of washing machines.

Refinery29 and "Spin" Backstage Pass Party

To prompt guests to amp up their social media presence at the party, Refinery29 and Spin created an in-house โInstagramโ wall. Party goers were encouraged to Instagram their own photos with the hashtag #BackStagePass, which were then printed on site and hung up on a wall for all to see. Photographers also walked the scene snapping photos of guests to be added to the wall.

Split between Maple Leaf Square, Real Sports Bar and Grill, E11ven, and the Air Canada Centre, Thursdayโs opening night gala for the Toronto International Film Festival took its cues from various locations of the film Looper. This included serving Shanghai-inspired bites such as grilled tofu, steamed buns, and noodles in takeout boxes.

The Scotiabank BuskerBall

Serving as a kickoff for the sprawling BuskerFest, BuskerBall took place in late August at the St. Lawrence North Market. Benefiting Epilepsy Toronto, the event was designed by interior designer Jamie Alexander and had a silent-auction area sectioned off into areas that looked like different rooms in a home. A plush, pillow-strewn bed was the focal point of one section.
