1. MADISON SQUARE GARDEN TO BUY TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL: The Madison Square Garden Company is buying a 50 percent stake in Tribeca Enterprises, which runs the Tribeca Film Festival. New York Times: “Among other ventures, Tribeca also runs international film events, a two-screen theater, a digital studio and a fledgling division that releases specialty movies both digitally and in theaters. 2. SEE INSIDE TED’S NEW CUSTOM THEATER: As part of the TED Conference’s move to Vancouver this year, designer David Rockwell created a 1,200-seat theater that was erected inside the city’s convention center and then dismantled until next year. Vanity Fair: “Rockwell, who is known for his restaurants and hotels—think Nobu, Decanter, W Union Square, Chambers—is as good as anybody at expressing the subtleties that define the vibe of a particular place, and he managed to do just that for TED. THE $10 MILLION COST OF POSTPONING ROLLING STONES TOUR: Music insiders estimate the cost of postponing the Australian leg of the Rolling Stones’s tour—because of the death of Mick Jagger's longtime girlfriend, L'Wren Scott—could cost $10 million.
