Vancouver Olympics: Samsung Pavilion Helps Visitors Share Photos, Video, Comments

Michael O'Connell
February 16, 2010

Samsung has filled a temporary pavilion at the Winter Games with its latest products, and is encouraging guests to use them to upload pictures, video, and text broadcast in the space. Samsung's centerpiece activation, the Olympic Rendezvous at Samsung, opened its doors last Friday in downtown Vancouver's LiveCity Yaletown.

Each of the expected 8,000 daily visitors will have the opportunity to share content at many wireless communication devices and see it appear in a moving, constantly changing stream of media on a canvas hung over the 7,500-square-foot two-story space. Working with British experiential marketing firm Imagination, as well as communications agency Cheil Worldwide and activation partner TBA Global, Samsung is also using its mobile technology to cull athletes' Facebook, Twitter, and blog activity and bring it to fans inside the pavilion.
