Eighty-five miles separate downtown Vancouver from Whistler—the site of much of the Olympic action—so the focus of many sponsor pavilions is on making the games readily accessible to the in-town masses. In addition to Coca-Cola and Samsung, Panasonic and Acer are the only Worldwide Partners of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games to set up camp in LiveCity Yaletown.
Acer's display features a host of Olympic competition simulations as well as a technological physical assessment program dubbed the Perfect Machine. Guests can use the specially designed touch screen systems to measure their athletic capabilities and see how they match up against other guests and professionals. Just down the street, Panasonic is using its space to preview its upcoming 3-D home theater system. Visitors who pick up a pair of the complimentary glasses can watch highlights from the games on two 103-inch televisions.
