Los Angeles-based Classic Party Rentals announced yesterday its acquisition of Manhattan-based TriServe Party Rentals, a move that extends Classic's reach across the country—and its recent buying spree. A purveyor of tabletop items, specialty linens, kitchen equipment, and other rentals, TriServe has been serving the New York area for more than 30 years and was recently rated by Zagat Survey as the Number 1 rental company in the city.
In a statement released yesterday, TriServe co-owner Lance York said, "New York clients are always looking for new and exciting products, and now we have the resources to go get them." York will continue on with the company, serving as general manager, while co-owner John Dawson will take on the role of operations manager.
TriServe's clients include Olivier Cheng Catering and Events, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lincoln Center, the New York Public Library, and JPMorgan Chase. Classic will continue to run the operation out of TriServe's garment district and Bronx locations, which will be rebranded.
In related news, Classic also announced yesterday its acquisition of Chicago Party Rental, a firm that has been serving the Chicago area since 1967. In addition to local business—Chicago Party Rental's clients include the Bulls, the Bears, and the White Sox—Classic will also tap into Chicago Party Rental's national work, which includes the Phoenix Open, the Kentucky Derby, and Nascar and PGA events.
