New Orleans jazz musicians Branford and Ellis Marsalis will honour the late Oscar Peterson with a performance at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame's fifth annual gala on Saturday. Branford, a three-time Grammy winner and renowned saxophonist, will perform Peterson's Wheatland alongside his father, Ellis, a jazz pianist himself. The pair—added to the gala lineup just this week—will perform during the award ceremony at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. Former prime minister Jean Chrétien will also be on hand to induct Paul Anka. A one-hour presentation of "Words to Music: the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame" will air on CBC at 7 p.m. Monday.
