New Orleans-based Bespoke Experiences, a new service in the San Diego area specializing in custom luxury travel itineraries for groups, designs private tours and experiences, include kayaking, sailing, and surfing lessons along the Sunset Cliffs. Itineraries are individualized and can be based on themes such as history, architecture, authentic culture, natural scenery, or adventure. Tours are available for four, six, and eight hours with a guide and transportation. Pricing is available upon request.

Porter24, a digital advertising company based in San Diego, recently debuted its “Complete Suite” concierge service at four San Diego-area hotels, including the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter, Residence Inn San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter, and Residence Inn San Diego Downtown. The interactive touch screens allow hotels to showcase amenities, while giving users access to information on local tourist attractions, weather, and flights. The service can also offer exclusive deals that are sent directly to a guest’s personal device. In addition, event planners can tailor perks and offers to conference guests, as well as update and display meeting information in real time. Plus, the screens come equipped with free charging stations, along with a hotel-branded selfie feature. Porter24 recently launched in Los Angeles as well and will soon expand to the San Francisco, New York, and Chicago markets.

The California Luau Team Cooking Challenge, a new program from San Diego-based Out of the Ordinary Group & Team Adventures, offers up island fare with flair, thanks to hula dancers and a tropical menu. Armed with basic ingredients and equipment, minimal instructions, and the guidance of a chef, each team is responsible for a course or item from the group’s menu, which features chicken kabobs, seafood ceviche, coconut and mango rice, and a rum and pineapple sundae. The dishes are judged on taste, creativity, and presentation, with a concluding awards ceremony. Professional chefs and staff coordinators, equipment and supplies, and aprons and chef hats are included. Pricing is available upon request.
