Here's a look at new San Diego eateries, bars, hotels, conference spaces, private rooms, and other venues available for events this spring. The new and renovated San Diego event spaces are available for corporate parties, weddings, fund-raisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, teambuilding activities, conferences, meetings, and more.
Cesarina

Found in the Point Loma community, the Italian restaurant Cesarina opened in February. The 2,700-square-foot space highlights its classic French bistro decor with a green and white color palette and antique mirrors. The mix of bistro-style tables and booths seat 98 guests with additional space on its outdoor dog-friendly patio.

Moxy San Diego

Gaslamp’s Moxy San Diego, part of Marriott International, opened in November. The nine-story hotel features 126 rooms and pays homage to San Diego’s Naval heritage with decor touches throughout the venue. Along with seafaring murals and hints of camouflage, the lobby features communal spaces with large writing walls and 56-inch televisions for presentation projection. There’s also a small boardroom-style meeting room.

Gravity Heights

Heralded as a large-scale brewery and concept restaurant, Gravity Heights in Sorrento Valley also has an event space and outdoor beer garden in its 12,000-square-foot footprint. The modernly appointed space is a mix of booths and tables, seating 320 guests total or holding 420 for receptions. The private room, a mezzanine overlooking the brewery, has games, including shuffle board and an arcade machine, and seats 32 or holds 50 standing. The venue opened in January.

Four Points by Sheraton San Diego

Four Points by Sheraton San Diego in the business district completed a renovation November. Along with 223 guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, the hotel has 23,000 square feet of event space. The renovation added upgraded audiovisual options including an LED video wall, sound system, and a 100-seat theater with a built-in screen.

The Florence

Sabre Springs is home to the Florence. Open since March, the American restaurant, cocktail bar, and café span 10,000 square feet of indoor space along with two-acres of outdoor space. Intimate fire pits, a regulation-size bocce ball court, and beach resort style are among its features. Indoors, the venue seats 175 guests, or it holds 250 for receptions. Outdoor capacity is 135 seated or 475 standing.

Farmer’s Table Bay Park

Open since October, Farmer’s Table Bay Park is the second concept of the same name with a focus on farm-to-table Italian cuisine. The 3,500-square-foot restaurant is a mix of indoor and outdoor space overlooking the Bay Ho community. The main dining room seats 120 or holds 150 for receptions. There’s also a chef’s table for eight and the Library Table for 16 seated guests. The patio seats 30 or holds 40 for cocktails, while a restaurant buyout seats 174 guests or holds 190 for receptions.

Farmer’s Table Little Italy

Opened in January, Farmer’s Table Little Italy is the third restaurant of the same name with a focus on farm-to-table Italian cuisine. The stylish 7,200-square-foot space is steps within the Piazza della Famiglia. There are multiple spaces for private events, from the main dining room that seats 80 or holds 100 for receptions, to two private dining rooms that seat 30 and 15, respectively. The cocktail lounge holds 50 guests. A restaurant buyout accommodates 310 seated guests or 350 standing.

Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill

Ocean Beach is home to a new Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill. Open since February, this is the second location for the restaurant. Like the original on India Street, the eatery features a fresh fish display for guests to take home and cook plus dine-in specials like shrimp crab cocktails, calamari sandwiches, and a selection of tacos. The restaurant covers 2,000 square feet of indoor space plus 1,000 square feet outdoors with a combined capacity for 200 seated guests or 300 standing.

Grande Ole BBQ Flinn Springs

San Diego favorite Grand Ole BBQ Y Asado opened a second location named Grande Ole BBQ Flinn Springs in El Cajon in January. The new location features more of the famous Central Texas barbeque (pulled pork, smoked turkey breast, and house specialty brisket). The venue covers 2,500 square feet of indoor space and 10,000 square feet of outdoor space plus a live music stage, two full bars, fire pits, 12 television sets, and a kid-friendly play area. Capacity is 450 seated guests or 800 standing.

Toast Gastrobrunch

Toast Gastrobrunch debuted in February in Carlsbad. The all-day brunch restaurant includes morning favorites like smoke brisket hash, short rib benny, and stuffed French toast. A mix of counter seats, booths, and individuals tables accommodate 180 seated guests within its 3,800-square-foot space.
