The Strip House, "the country's sauciest steak house," has walked a tightrope between sexual innuendo and fine food since its inception. With six locations and three more expected this year, the franchise has made a name for itself by being named "One of America's Greatest Steak Houses" by GQ in March 2006 and recently branching out into Puerto Rico. An 8,000-square-foot restaurant opened in Naples on June 1 as the second Florida location, joining the existing facility in Palm Beach Gardens. The Naples location lives up to its name's double entendre, courtesy of David Rockwell's architectural visions. The walls are scarlet and feature hundreds of photos of vintage burlesque stars from the original 1900s Studio Manasse collection, tables are designed with silk and velvet, and the lighting gives off a rosy, romantic vibe. The menu features prime cuts of beef charred to perfection by chef John Schenk, and the restaurant seats 140 in the main room, 50 in the lounge and bar, and 14 in a private dining room.
