Chad Kaydo, editor in chief of BizBash, and Howard Givner, founder and executive director of the Event Leadership Institute, have announced the first batch of presenters scheduled to appear at the Event Innovation Forum—South Florida, a new conference at BizBash IdeaFest South Florida at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center April 10.
The presenters will include Rachel Gross of Univision, Polo World Cup producer Bruce Orosz, Rebecca Grinnals of Engaging Concepts, and many others. Registration for the Event Innovation Forum and the BizBash IdeaFest South Florida is now open.
"We expect attendees to walk away from the sessions with insights they can use to further their careers, whether they're veterans running their own departments or companies or just starting out in the event business," Givner said.
Gross will discuss how to market to and effectively engage the Latino customer at the “New Opportunities in the Hispanic Event Market” presentation. The Hispanic market is the fastest-growing segment of the population with tremendous buying power, and Gross will share how she targets this demographic.
Orosz, who produces the Orange Bowl halftime show, will explain how he made his event work under pressure during “Producing a Halftime Show: Behind the Scenes at the Orange Bowl.”
As the creator of Disney Fairy Tale Weddings and the Engage Luxury Wedding Conference, Grinnals will explain how to take advantage of the numerous resources available to today’s bride and how to market to this luxury audience during “New Insights on Targeting the Luxury Bridal Market."
The Event Innovation Forum will include two 90-minute sessions with presentations from cutting-edge marketers and event experts. Registration will also include a networking lunch and other opportunities to speak one-on-one with presenters and attendees, as well as a trade show floor pass.
Attendees can register for the BizBash IdeaFest and the Event Innovation Forum here.

New Opportunities in the Hispanic Event Market
Rachel Gross, senior vice president of event marketing, Univision
The United States Latino market is the fastest-growing segment of the population, with a projected buying power of $1.5 trillion by 2015. Companies are increasingly focused on the Hispanic market, but when it comes to events, what do they need to know? In this session, Gross will discuss important facts about this market and how it is changing, as well as key strategies for designing events to engage the Latino customer effectively.
Producing a Halftime Show: Behind the Scenes at the Orange Bowl
Bruce Orosz, ACT Productions
Every event professional has horror stories about working around incredibly short set-up times, but nothing compares to producing a halftime show for a major football game. Executing the load-in, set up, performance, break down, and load-out in less than half an hour is a logistics miracle. In this session, producer Orosz—who also produces the Miami Beach Polo World Cup—will pull the curtain back on how it's all done.
New Insights on Targeting the Luxury Bridal Market
Rebecca Grinnals, owner, Engaging Concepts
Today's wedding clients are more sophisticated than ever. Brides are collecting ideas from designers' blogs, Pinterest boards, TV shows, and numerous other sources, making them savvy customers. In this session, Grinnals, creator of Disney Fairy Tale Weddings and the Engage Luxury Wedding Conference and consultant to top luxury brands, will share insights on how to better understand and market to today's luxury bride.
