1. PRESS PASS: The Conscious Capitalism conference had to apologize after trying to enforce a blog post quota on bloggers attending the event next month in San Francisco. Mashable: "For approved press and bloggers, access is free, but there's a caveat for bloggers—that is, those who aren't staffed at 'bona fide media organizations,' per Conscious Capitalism's definition. If they don't write two blog posts—one prior to the event and one after—they'll be invoiced for the ticket price." Following criticism, the conference retracted the rule. http://on.mash.to/Y0fUup
2. KIDDIE COUTURE: The first Global Kids’ Fashion Week took place in London this week. Women's Wear Daily: "No fashion week is complete without the obligatory after-party so, for GKFW, the Lodge room was transformed into a children’s playland with a giant bubble machine, a manicure bar for little fingers from LittleBU, a photo booth, and a popcorn vendor. … The two-day event is being funded by AlexandAxela.com, with production and styling costs for the shows being partially covered by the brands participating." http://wwd.us/XqJVjn
3. LATE-NIGHT SUCCESSION: Jimmy Fallon will take over The Tonight Show in the next year or so and move it to New York City, according to NBC sources. New York Times: "The move to Mr. Fallon would be a significant cultural, and geographic, shift. [Jay] Leno delivers a more traditional Las Vegas-style comedy act that is viewed as a link to previous hosts, including his immediate predecessor, Johnny Carson. Mr. Fallon, 38, offers a more contemporary and varied brand of entertainment, with a heavy reliance on the Internet. His best material gains additional life on sites like YouTube, and he actively courts interaction with his viewers by having them submit comedy ideas through Twitter." http://nyti.ms/ZdQ0io
4. GREAT HORNED TAXI: Check out this Denver promotion. Adweek: "Carmichael Lynch put ornamental mammoth tusks on a fleet of cabs to drum up attention for the Denver Museum of Nature & Science's 'Mammoths and Mastodons: Titans of the Ice Age' exhibit." http://bit.ly/XpWH1G
