TooJay's Gourmet Deli catered the event, serving black-and-white cookies, macaroons, and other sweet treats during a networking break. The evening reception featured three entrées: jerk pork with fruit salsa; grilled chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms and wild rice; and chicken balsamico with marsala sauce, tomatoes, and.phparagus.
Southern Audio Visual added to the atmosphere with wild animal sounds played on a loop and wild animal footage showing on an oversize plasma screen in the main room.
But no jungle is complete without real animals. Handlers from Busch Wildlife Sanctuary gave guests a chance to get close to a baby alligator, a screech owl, a red-shouldered hawk, and an albino red rattlesnake. Also mingling and posing for pictures were two actors posing as Tarzan and Jane hired by Unique Productions. Additional entertainment came from body painter Jesse Thoreson of Mind's Eye Images. When Thoreson's model failed to show up, BiZBashFla assistant editor Vanessa Goyanes filled in. Guests watched as Thoreson airbrushed Goyanes with leopard spots and whiskers.
