Art Show Brings Culture and Events Galore to Miami

It was that time of year again in December: not the holidays, which went on the back burner to make room for Art Basel Miami Beach 2006. Held a week later than usual, the annual art show sibling of Sweden's celebrated fair saw 200 galleries from the across the country, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa plus works by more than 2,000 artists. It seemed as if as many events took place around town because of it—with festivities taking place as early as two days before the Miami Beach Convention Center opened its doors on December 7.
