As Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim drew to a close on July 14 with the Jessica Simpson swimwear show, fashion devotees and execs headed to SET for their final dose of beauty, swimwear, and style. La Perla, best known for its high-end lingerie line, chose SET for the American debut of its PrΓͺt Γ Porter line.
"SET attracts many club-goers looking for something sexy, and that is what we were able to bring to the club this weekend," said Jennifer Edelberg, PR director for La Perla. As guests arrived, they grabbed a drink at one of the main room's three bars before heading to mingle among the fashion elite. Champagne, SET's signature drink, flowed freely as guests took in the runway's hot fashions and lavish environment, designed by Francois Frossard Designs in conjunction with the Opium Group.
The Pucci-covered couches, usually spread throughout the floor of the main room, were pushed against the walls to make space for the runway down the center. Built-in shelves, extending to the ceiling, were stocked with top-shelf bottles of Skyy Vodka, Rubi Rey Rum, Johnnie Walker Black, and Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne. Globe-shaped crystal chandeliers, handmade by designer Frossard, hung from the ceiling, while jewel-toned lighting in red, orange, and purple added to the rich ambience.
"It is such a glamorous club, with decadent detailing throughoutβwhich makes it a perfect venue for a fashion show featuring such luxurious styles," Edelberg said.
As models walked to music played by DJ Tommy Rick, flat-screen TVs mounted high on the walls displayed videos of the swimsuits being fabricated in the La Perla factory.
Guests seated along the runway received gift bags filled with goodies donated by the event's sponsors, including the July issue of InStyle magazine, L'OrΓ©al Professional and KΓ©rastase hair products, a complimentary drink ticket and CD from O Asian Grill, Nars cosmetics, La Perla panties and a fragrance, and gift cards and treatment discounts from Biguine Beauty and Full Salon.
