Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim kicked off July 10 at the Raleigh Hotel on South Beach. The first show of the week was also one of the most creative and buzzed-about events. Jacquelyne Love premiered her 45-piece swimwear collection, including a few 100 percent organic suits, poolside, while her husband, Mike Love, performed with his fellow Beach Boys and special guest John Stamos on a stage supplied by New Jersey-based Bernhard Link Theatrical LLC.Since it was a swimwear fashion show, the Beach Boys were the perfect music for the models to walk to. Mike Love belted hits like "California Girls," "Surfin' USA," "Good Vibrations," and, of course, "Kokomo," the event's title song.
While the entertainment and swimwear were top-notch, there was another noteworthy aspect of the show. At a traditional fashion show, models strut down a constructed runway toward the photographers' pit, and chairs with industry heavy hitters line both sides. This was not the case at the Kokomo show, however. Since the event was poolside, instead of constructing a runway over the water, Jacquelyne Love had the models walk along the inner rim of the pool, with photographers set up around the edge.

Unlike at traditional fashion shows, the models walked on the inner perimeter of the pool, instead of on a runway.
