With publications in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, among others, Modern Luxury Media announced the launch of the its newest market and publication—Miami—to more than 500 advertisers and supporters at the Alfred I. Dupont Building in downtown Miami. The Dupont, a refurbished 1939 bank turned event venue, features architectural details including wall-to-wall marble floors, hand-painted cypress wood ceilings, detailed scrollwork, and brass doors, all of which provided a launching pad for Balmelli Creative Events to design the decor for the evening.
Balmelli set up intimate seating areas throughout the space using white suede couches and Lucite cube tables. Accented with equally stunning white florals, the seating areas resembled a modern luxury living space.Fendi Casa took over the vault, draping it in white linens. Furniture, linens, and accents such as throw pillows from their latest line provided a seating area for guests to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main event space. Next to the vault, the folks at A Link Jewelry displayed their wares and Veuve Clicquot introduced its Yellowboam three-liter Champagne bottle, featuring labels made of ostrich, stingray, or alligator hide. Models clad in furs from Saks Fifth Avenue circulated throughout the second floor.
Bartenders from Shiraz FL Inc. served Veuve Clicquot Champagne and Belvedere Vodka from behind the Dupont's original teller windows while guests noshed on Kobe beef ultra-mini burgers and cheesecake-stuffed strawberries. Overhead, DJs Matt Cash and Paul Sevigny spun everything from '80s classics to dance favorites.
