Soho Studios, a warehouse known for its blank-canvas quality, was transformed into an elegant cocktail and dinner gala-the first of its kind in the space-on January 12 to host the "An Affair of the Arts" performances and dinner gala. More than 800 guests flocked to the Wynwood art district in Miami to commemorate the end of youngARTS week, a celebration of young talent put on by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts.
Event chairwoman Margarita Codina recruited Act Productions to help transform Soho into a sleek black-tie setting for the evening. Guests arrived via red carpet and made their way into the cocktail area for mingling and bidding in a silent auction. Items up for auction included exotic getaways, sports memorabilia, and high-end retail packages. The main dining area was decked out with white satin draping by Quest Drape, silver Chiavari chairs, and pewter-colored linens accented by brightly colored flower arrangements of pink, purple, blue, and light green.
Following dinner, eventgoers were treated to special performances from previous youngARTS award winners including Nashville Star winner Chris Young and American Ballet Theatre soloist Sarah Lane before hitting the floor to dance to the sounds of DJ Irie.
