On March 20, a new company threw an after-hours launch party. What set this launch event apart from the rest was its location-inside the Epicure Gourmet Market, a gourmet grocer on South Beach. The company making its debut was Epicure Events, a new branch of the grocer.
Orchestrated by Epicure events coordinator Caron Cole, the event treated guests to a red-carpet welcome, complete with glasses of champagne served upon entry. Caterwaiters in the welcoming area served a variety of small bites, including shrimp ceviche cups. High-top tables were arranged in the café area of the store, draped in black linens, and topped with compact arrangements of hydrangeas, tulips, and more in bright spring colors. As guests meandered through the store, they were confronted with different food stations at every turn. From an international cheese display and a selection of caviar to a chocolate fountain, as well as chefs serving bites from the prepared foods counter, there was plenty for everyone.
When it came to decor, Cole partnered with Panache: A Classic Party Rental Company to set up a variety of vignettes showcasing the linen, rental, and flatware options from which Epicure Events clients can choose. Though Epicure aims to become a full production house, currently they are working with choice vendors to create their events.
