For its annual Unzipped fashion show this past Saturday, The Miami New Times, an weekly alternative newspaper in South Florida, headed to the rooftop of Midtown 4 in the latest developing Miami district.
"It's right in our backyard, has a good view of the bay, and it's in such a great up-and-coming area," said Caterina Falcone, marketing and promotions director for the newspaper. "We love Midtown!"
Michael Designs created a unique truss system behind the rooftop's pool, adding to the atmosphere. For the three shows that took place, models strutted down the runway built in the pool to upbeat alternative sounds provided by Extreme ProSound. Unlike at traditional fashion shows, the photographers were arranged around the perimeter of the pool, instead of just in a pit at the end of the runway.
Following the final show, eventgoers headed to the Vagabond downtown for the official Unzipped after-party.
