To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Intermix, a national designer clothing store, the company partnered with BlackBerry Curve for the multi-city "Pink is the New Black" V.I.P. event.
"The new BlackBerry is a fashion accessory, and what better fashion outlet than Intermix? The store resonates with the working mom, the fashionista, the professional-women of all ages," said Leemor Rhodes, account manager for event producers Harrison & Shriftman in Miami.
The South Beach event saw pink, the color of Intermix's logo and the new BlackBerry, employed in a variety of ways, from the pink-carpeted entrance to the curved DJ booth where DJ Ruckus (the official DJ for the event, that hits New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta on its tour) spun, to the centrally located "wish tank" filled with pink water, goldfish, a hot pink stiletto, pink makeup, and Chanel nail polish, as well as the new pink BlackBerry Curve 8330 Smartphones that were later given as gifts.
"I wanted to make the event unique and interactive so we created quirky elements like the fish tank and mixed it with the high-end branded photo booth to create a fun and unique way for guests to interact with the brand," said Ryan Jordan, creative director for Harrison & Shriftman.
La Basque Catering provided a variety of passed hors d'oeuvres, including tuna tartare, lobster bisque in espresso cups, shrimp skewers, and stuffed mushrooms. Caterwaiters served the small bites from trays lined with pink candies such as M&Ms, gumballs, and Pop Rocks.
Actress Rosario Dawson was scheduled to host the Miami event, but couldn't make it because of travel problems. Former model and Las Vegas star Molly Sims filled in at the last minute.
