Mandolin Aegean Bistro opened earlier this month in the design district. In a formerly abandoned house, the 2,600-square-foot bistro has a small dining room for 20 and an outdoor patio for 30.
The 600-square-foot blue and white interior features reclaimed furniture, hand-crocheted curtains, and vintage plates on the walls. A 2,000-square-foot patio, enclosed by bougainvillea overhead, sits behind the property and can seat 30 or host about 75 for a reception.
The menu offers Greek staples like horiatiki saladβwhich combines tomato, pepper, cucumber, and feta cheeseβand gyro sandwiches with tzatziki and mousaka sauces.
The management team plans to acquire the adjacent house early next year and turn it into a private event space for 30.
