There was no shortage of soirees during this year’s Art Basel, which wrapped its ninth edition on Sunday. Vogue kicked off its shopping lounge on Wednesday at the Raleigh in South Beach with makeovers, cupcakes, Hpnotiq cocktails, and a live set by DJ Ess and Emm. Next door, Miguel Paredes had people dancing at the National hotel for the opening reception to his latest exhibition—his largest to date.
Over the weekend, the Miami Art Museum, inspired by Andy Warhol’s “December Shoe,” threw a brightly hued ball at the Mandarin Oriental. Here’s a look at some of the memorable parties held in Miami throughout the week.

The Bass Museum of Art's reception on Wednesday unveiled British artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien's exhibition and announced a new, three-year partnership between the museum and Puma.Creative to launch the Creative Caribbean Network, an initiative dedicated to promoting the work of Caribbean artists. Grey Goose was the beverage sponsor, serving a signature cocktail called the Carlyle, with Campari, Disaronno, soda, and orange juice.

In its inaugural year, the Zoom satellite art fair presented a selective group of regional and international galleries representing contemporary artists from the Middle East and its diaspora. The opening reception at the South Seas hotel on Wednesday featured food, cocktails, and a live performance titled "Fountain" by Nezaket Ekici, a Turkish and German artist.

Belvedere and Interview magazine hosted a party on Thursday at the Delano to unveil the Belvedere branch glorifier, a new kind of ice sculpture that attracts moisture from the air and freezes it. Resembling the vodka's signature emblem, the piece was designed in collaboration with Pablo Reinoso. The night featured a synchronized swimming performance that featured three nude models, bagpipe players, and folksingers. Guests attended an after-party at Le Baron, André Saraiva's pop-up party imported from Paris into the hotel's Florida Room.

The Wolfsonian hosted various events during Art Basel tied to Isabella Rossellini's premiere of "Seduce Me," a video installation commissioned by the museum and focusing on the unconventional seduction rituals of animals. The museum partnered with Bulgari for a 100-person dinner and auction on Wednesday. Shiraz Events managed and staffed the event, catered by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, whose menu featured Robert Mondavi Winery selections in honor of Margrit Mondavi, who was also in attendance.

Oceanfront Nights, presented by Art Basel Miami Beach and Creative Time, was inspired by four cities: Detroit, Mexico City, Berlin, and Glasgow. From Wednesday to Saturday, each night spotlighted one city with film, music, video, and live performances. The Fish Box and gastroPod were a couple of the food trucks stationed at Collins Park to serve guests a variety of small meals.

Pharrell Williams performed with his band N.E.R.D. at a party hosted by artist Shepard Fairey, Paper magazine and AOL at FriendsWithYou's Rainbow City on Thursday. Randi Freedman of Logistics Management Group produced the event, held at a 40,000-square-foot park in the design district. Sponsors included Tommy Hilfiger, Arizona Rescue Water, and Heineken.

New York-born, Miami-based artist Miguel Paredes presented his largest exhibition at the National hotel during Art Basel. His artwork was featured in the hotel's Oval Room and along the indoor columns and walls. Paredes also draped two 80-foot banners down the hotel's facade and hovered about 30 balloons featuring his character Pulgha over the pool. More than 1,000 guests attended the opening reception on Wednesday, which featured cocktails by Bombay Sapphire, music by Buddha Bar resident Sam Popat, and the work of Paredes collaborator and rock photographer Danny Clinch.

Le Basque handled the decor and design of the 2010 Miami Art Museum ball, held on Saturday at the Mandarin Oriental. To make the wooden ballroom pop, Le Basque used fuchsias and oranges for lighting, linens, flowers, and centerpieces. DJ Shlomi and his band Bossa and Roses provided the entertainment. Chaired by Diane and Robert Moss, the 570-person event (at $750 a ticket) also celebrated the first phase of construction for the museum's new 200,000 square-foot property overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Vogue and Yves Saint Laurent threw a party at Casa de Sueños, a private villa in Miami Beach, on Saturday. Guests included Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Alex Rodriguez, Russell Simmons, and others. There was a runway fashion show to preview the 2011 YSL Cruise Collection. DJ Frank Delour provided the musical entertainment.

At the opening reception for Vogue's three-day shopping lounge event at the Raleigh Hotel, guests were treated to Yves Saint Laurent makeovers, cupcakes from Stella's Sweet Shoppe, Hpnotiq cocktails, and beats by DJ Ess and Emm. The American Cancer Society was also present, promoting its "More Birthdays" campaign via colorful posters and video PSAs by the likes of Rihanna and Usher.
