After the success of its South Beach location, the Prive Group opened a downtown outpost of Miss Yip Chinese Cafe in December. In a residential tower at 900 Biscayne Bay—across the street from the American Airlines Arena and Museum Park, the new home of the Miami Art Museum—the new, 4,000 square-foot eatery is now open for lunch and dinner. According to Javier Rabinovich of the Prive Group, “900 Biscayne Bay was the ideal location catering to people going to the American Airlines Arena for games and concerts, coming from a cruise, or heading to a show at the Adrienne Arsht Center.”
The revamped menu offers a range of dim sum, dumplings, and other traditional Chinese fare like Peking duck, Mongolian beef, and orange peel chicken, in a modern Shanghai teahouse setting.
The main, 1,800 square-foot dining room, which features burgundy banquettes and a large Buddha statue, is divided into three sections seating a total of 150. This includes two V.I.P. areas and a private booth that seats as many as 15. Additional seating is available in the restaurant’s front terrace, a 700-square-foot area with six tables for 26.
A separate, 1,500-square-foot outdoor lounge, which has access to a full bar, can seat 74 on red couches. This area is surrounded by bamboo for privacy, and is equipped with speakers, flat-screen televisions, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Miss Yip can be sectioned off for private events, and buyouts are also available.
