Fort Lauderdale now has 8,000 square feet of new event space, courtesy of the B Ocean Fort Lauderdale hotel, which opened to guests in February and held an official opening party two weeks ago.
The hotel's location on the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and A1A gives it the benefit of floor-to-ceiling Atlantic Ocean views from most rooms, including those on the penthouse floor, which houses meeting rooms and is known as B On Top.
Two ballrooms and a boardroom are the main event areas available. The 3,180-square-foot Infinity Ballroom can accommodate 250 people; the Horizon Ballroom can accommodate 150, and its 2,030 square feet can be divided into three breakout rooms; and the 506-square-foot boardroom can hold 40 people in a reception or theater setting.
All three spaces can be set up as classrooms or conference rooms, with round or U-shaped tables. There is also a prefunction area called Impression, which is useful for event registration setups or cocktail hours.
Like the rest of the hotel, B On Top offers complimentary Internet access to guests and event attendees. An express elevator from the ground floor ensures that groups can reach the meeting spaces efficiently, without stopping on multiple guest floors en route.
Catering for all spaces is available and provided by the hotel. B Ocean's dining options include Saia, serving Southeast Asian fare from an open kitchen at communal tables; B'stro on the Beach, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has a self-serve Cruvinet wine bar; and the poolside Quench bar, which offers light bites and beverages. Another restaurant, Breeze, will open later this year.
Catering menus and event packages are available, with prices depending on group size and needs. For event planners looking to accommodate guests overnight, B Ocean has 162 rooms, two master suites, 22 junior suites, and 54 "Stunning" and "Stunning Curve Rooms" with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. Some offer views of the ocean, and others overlook the Intracoastal Waterway and downtown Fort Lauderdale skyline.
