Now open for private rental, the Dezer Collection is a new option for events that is, it seems safe to say, unlike any other Miami location.
Owned by developer Michael Dezer, the 250,000-square-foot venue houses Dezer's $140 million car collection, which includes notable items like the 1948 Ford "Greased Lightning" from Grease, the 1959 Cadillac "Ecto 1" from Ghostbusters, and the 1981 DeLorean "time machine" from Back to the Future, along with an expansive collection of submarines, airplanes, boats, and cars from the James Bond movies.
Eight separate event spaces allow groups to host meetings or parties around the luxury cars and other collectibles, with rooms that accommodate between 50 and 2,500. The 25,000-square-foot Dezer Showplace, the largest room, can be customized with a range of automobiles from the collection to fit the theme of individual events. Depending on the configuration, the space seats up to 1,500 for a banquet, or holds 2,500 for a cocktail reception.
Smaller spaces include the 1,500-square-foot James Bond Lounge, a sleek room adjacent to the Bond vehicles, which holds 200 for a reception. The Batman Lounge, containing Batmobiles and other items from the Batman movies, also holds 200.
Less car-focused spaces include the jukebox-filled American Classics '50s-style diner, which holds 300; the Arcade, filled with hundreds of stand-up video game machines and room for 500; and even an indoor drive-in theater, where guests can watch movies on the big screen while relaxing in the back seat of a Chevy.
