Opening this weekend in midtown Miami, new fast-casual Brazilian burger eatery Giraffas provides a space for quick, no-frills lunches, as well as an option for private parties.
A 30-year-old Brazilian steak-and-burger chain, Giraffas recently expanded into the U.S. market, debuting last July in North Miami's Causeway Square, followed by the new outpost set to open Friday in the Shops at Midtown.
The menu is decidedly more foodie-friendly than most quick-casual eateries, offering an array of cuts of Brazilian steak topped with spicy sauces, plus over-the-top burgers like giraffo file (a filet mignon burger topped with a fried egg, bacon, and cheese), plus pastas (a common find at steakhouses in Brazil), Itaipava Brazilian beer, espresso, and petit gateau molten chocolate cake on the dessert menu.
Both restaurants feature an open kitchen and bright dining room accented by bold colors, interspersed with exposed brick, natural woods, and tiles, plus revolving menu display boards and TVs screening tweets about the restaurant. In each space, a large communal table at the center of the dining room offers space for casual group meals.
Both locations of Giraffas are available for buyouts. The North Miami restaurant holds 97 people and the midtown new branch holds 80.
