The South Beach sun gave a summery backdrop for Cosmopolitan en EspaΓ±olβs beach bash, which returned to Nikki Beach for the late-afternoon event June 22. The beauty-themed, indoor-outdoor event infused the beach property with Latin flavor.
βThis event was created last year as a partnership with a liquor brand, and it had such a great turnout and buzz that there was no way for us not to add it to our lineup of signature events,β said event coordinator Analia Villanueva of Televisa Publishing and Digital. βIt is a fun, relaxed event that matches the Cosmo girl personality.β
Upon entry, invited guestsβthe magazineβs readers and clients, along with beauty and fashion bloggersβvisited the indoor Brugal rum bar to sample complimentary featured cocktails, like the Dry Cosmopolitan and the Brugal Dehumidifier. Following the happy hour, beauty experts offered services at pop-up stations, such as makeovers with Splat Rebellious Colors eclectic hair chalk and L.A. Colors Cosmetics makeup and nail polish. βWe partnered with beauty brands targeted to Hispanics to match our overall objectives,β Villanueva said. Loud-colored products popped on tables dressed in black with matching vanity mirrors to accent.
An oversize cover of the June 2013 issue featuring Emmy Rossum served as decor, along with a massive beach-themed step-and-repeat. Attendees were encouraged to tweet using the hashtag #CosmoBeachBash, but Polaroid was there to capture the live moments, as well.
Burlap gift bags bearing the Cosmopolitan logo in hot pink were stocked with fashion and beauty products courtesy of Splat, L.A. Colors Cosmetics, and Samsara Imports.
