One of Manhattan's handful of four-star restaurants just got better: Le Bernardin has opened a new private room above the restaurant, called Les Salons Bernardin, with its own entrance, kitchen, restrooms and coat check area. Enclosed in etched glass, the room has two automated walls that can be raised or lowered to create different amounts of space; it can seat 18 to 80 guests for lunch or dinner, or hold as many as 200 people for cocktails. Pluses: a projection screen, video conferencing capabilities, Internet access and--perhaps best of all--chef Eric Ripert's recipes.
