Martha Stewart, Seat Stealer?

The IBM PC turned 20 last week, and Microsoft and Intel threw a big party at the Tech Museum in San Jose to toast the machine that helped make the companies their millions. But the talk of the party wasn't Bill Gates, Andy Grove or Carly Fiorina, but someone more familiar with ribbons and gardening trowels than microchips and Pentium processors: frequent partygoer Martha Stewart. According to The Wall Street Journal (even financial reporters love party gossip now and then), the domestic doyenne sat with Wall Street analysts, prompting one Salomon Smith Barney analyst to note in his report to colleagues the next day that she stole his seat--although he said she probably didn't realize it.

More Martha appearances: At Daniel Boulud's DB opening party...,
At a Kmart press conference..., At Alain Ducasse's book party...
