Simplicity isn't something you come across much in Times Square. If it doesn't have flashing lights or neon, it hardly seems to belong. Dance Times Square, a new dance ballroom and raw event space, embodies an elegant simplicity that defies its outlandish neighborhood. The 2,100-square-foot space offers chandelier lighting, hardwood floors, a beautifully restored antique ceiling, kitchen facilities and a digital sound system. When it's not being used as an event space, United States dance champions Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin practice here. The space can hold 70 for sit-down event, or 140 for cocktails. --Suzanne Ito (Photo by Patricio Suarez)
