MEETINGS: Put Your Name Badge to Work

E3148disc 03 0624 Ntag 1 152
nTAG has revolutionized the paper name badge into a high-tech interactive device. Badges not only display names, but also allow participants to interact. After everyone's information is input into the nTAG, when two people pass each other the badges alert them of common interests—connecting, say, buyers and sellers at a trade show. (At the New York New Media Association's Cybersuds Reloaded event at the Altman Building on June 23, the tags certainly served well as conversation-starters—even if many of the conversations started with "Does that thing work or what?") The devices can hold program schedules, city guides and users' electronic business cards. The new gadgets rent for $30 to $90 per user. —Mark Mavrigian
