What She Does: Event production, marketing, PR, and more—mostly for the media and retail industries. She opened the doors to her Midtown office in late February, one day after leaving a full-time gig at Miramax. Her Background: She gave up premed plans after college, and asked a friend to put her in touch with 7th on Sixth's Fern Mallis (“I saw an interview with [Mallis] and I just thought she was the coolest woman with the coolest job in the universe,” Wise says.) It wasn’t long before she moved to New York from Toronto to work for her. From there, she did stints at Nike Communications and Harrison & Shriftman—until Tina Brown scouted her to join Talk magazine. When it folded in 2002 (“It was like someone ripped my heart out”), she spent two years planning events at Miramax until it too reorganized operations. Now clients include Radar magazine, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Toshiba, in addition to Miramax, for whom she produced the Sin City premiere.

Her Specialty: Wise is often hired for her talent—and packed Rolodex—for wrangling celebrity attendees. When she had just a few days to organize a party for Rudy Giuliani's memoir, she got a diverse group including former Governor George Pataki, Anna Wintour, Renee Zelwegger, and Barbara Walters. “After an event, what counts is the people you’ve met and the conversations you had. So for me, getting the right mix is everything."
