Pick up healthy food for kids or enroll them in a class at Kidfresh, the new Upper East Side retail shop. The store stocks cutely packaged, nutritious (and portion-appropriate) prepared foods—and all the eats are made on-site in the store’s kitchen (or “Kidchen,” as it is called). At the rear of the shop is a cheery, comfy section with seating and low tables that accommodates classes for as many as 10 children. Classes are structured by age, and kids prep foods and learn about nutrition and food origins. Kids use small bowls, spatulas, wooden spoons, and plastic knives—and are kept safely away from dangerous heat sources and sharp utensils. The company also provides customized catering menus, and gift cards are an option for local clients or employees with children. —Mark Mavrigian
