During the flurry of shows, models, and celebrities last week, the Bryant Park Corporation expressed a renewed interest in evicting the Fashion Week tents from its grounds earlier than previously expected. According to a report from The Observer, Daniel Biederman, president of the nonprofit that manages the Midtown park, is working with city officials to find an alternate home for the weeklong event before its lease ends, believing that its twice yearly presence affects the profits of the on-site vendors and damages the grassy lawn.

The news comes as a surprise following last season's announcement indicating that Fashion Week's operator, IMG Fashion, had negotiated an agreement that would allow the tents to stay at the park through February 2010.
